If a Michelle Obama college rec letter doesn't get you accepted, there's no hope for any of us
Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi got a pretty impressive college recommendation from former (*tear*) FLOTUS Michelle Obama.
“She is very amazing and such a supporter, which is something very surreal to say,” Shahidi told W Magazine on the set of the new campaign for Beyoncé's activewear line, because yes, she is cooler than you.
Shahidi, who applied to four universities, has expressed interest in attending Harvard.

Obama herself is a graduate of Harvard Law School and so is her husband, who is also important. Their eldest daughter, Malia, is currently taking a gap year working in television and film and will begin her undergraduate degree at Harvard later this year. Maybe she'll need a cool roommate?
Shahidi, who is known for her activism, plans to double major in African American studies and sociology. For her, blending her film work with causes that matter is a no-brainer: “If you look at the history of art and fashion, it’s always been political. It’s always been pushing boundaries,” she says.
Shahidi is set to star in a spin-off of her hit show, and while she's tight-lipped about the premise so far, many suspect it will focus on Zoey's new life when she leaves for college. Life, meet art, yet again.
