Amazon issues discounts timed for back-to-school shopping

Don't bother going to the mall for back-to-school shopping when you can point and click your way through Amazon instead. (Plus, pay just $3 for a 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and take advantage of all those sweet shipping options.)

For a limited time, Amazon is lowering the prices of their various electronics by anywhere from $5-$80, with the Echo (priced at $100) coming in on top as the best deal. Don't stop there, though. You can also decorate the house with Echo Dots, which are $5 off.

Kindle products are also seeing a price cut, with the Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Voyage all down $20.

The Fire 7 tablet is $10 off, making it super affordable at under $40, but the Fire 8, which gets you a better screen, 50 percent more battery life, twice the storage, and stereo speakers, is just $20 more.
