This indestructible mug kinda looks like Luke Skywalker's blue milk cup, right guys?

It's got some Space Age tech behind it.

Does this mug look at all familiar to you? To me it looks a little like the one Luke uses to drink his blue milk in A New Hope.

The minimalist cylinder is totally reminiscent of our favorite space aunt's dining set, right?

Ok, it may be a stretch, but whether or not you think it looks something you'd drink blue milk out of, the MYMUG is pretty freakin' cool. It's beautiful, made in America, BPA-free and apparently unbreakable.

MYMUG was created by the company Making Modern (whose goal is, appropriately, to modernize common products) and is currently being funded on Kickstarter. It's made of a BPA- and BPS-free composite material that apparently looks and feels just like ceramic. Unlike ceramic, however, Making Modern claims that MYMUG is virtually indestructible. They stand by it too—Making Modern offers a "century guarantee."

The handle-less design makes it a little unclear if the MYMUG wants to be a travel mug or an at-home mug. It appears the answer is both. The Kickstarter page claims that the lack of a handle is just to facilitate "two handed embraces" and doesn't mention portability at all, but they will be offering lids that will ship out a few months after initial distribution.

The small, slotted base looks a little unstable but according to the FAQ's on the Kickstarter page, the low center of gravity in the tapered mug actually makes it pretty hard to tip over.

MYMUG will be available in 4, 8, 12, and 16 ounce versions, though only the 12 ounce is shipping in December. If you want one of the other sizes or the lid you'll have to wait until February 2018. You can back the Kickstarter until November 18 to get 25% off the retail price. (You'll get 33% off if you order multiples.)

Now you've just got to find some blue milk to drink out of it.
