If you're looking for a Halloween costume that's instantly recognizable but not totally played out, I'd like to humbly suggest looking to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The best video game of the year (don't @ me, Destiny fans) is popular enough that everyone will get it, but not so recently released that there will be 30 other Links at your Halloween party.

ThinkGeek has you covered with officially-licensed Zelda gear for all of your Halloween needs. If you're dressing up as Link, you can't go wrong with the champion's tunic. While it may not show monsters' health, you will be immediately recognized as the Hylian champion. The tunic is long sleeved which does lose it authenticity points, but October is (typically) cold and this way you can wear it all autumn long, not just on Halloween. Just roll up the sleeves and layer it over this sweater depicting Link's armbands and hood for added authenticity and warmth.

What's a champion without his tools? You probably shouldn't attempt to shield surf on this Traveler's Shield, but it does have some useful perks that the in-game shield doesn't. It doubles as a backpack (or candy receptacle), which is probably a little more practical. You can also rock a Sheikah Slate on your hip just in case there was any question that you're the hero of legend. This one is actually a notebook — handy for jotting down all the numbers you'll be getting because your costume is so cool.

If you're a Zelda OG, you can still get the iconic green tunic. There's even a romper version because of course the ladies costume has gotta be sexy *commence giant eye roll.* Unfortunately ThinkGeek doesn't stock the Master Sword and Hylian Shield anymore but you know Amazon has everything so you can try there.

There's still time to order your officially-licensed Legend of Zelda costume for this Halloween. No guarantees you'll find the princess, but you'll definitely win some costume contests.
