Couples costumes are serious business. They signify the depth of your bond, your sense of humor about the relationship, and which pop culture touchstones you share. Instead of putting all that pressure on your significant other, you can dress up with your ride-or-die instead — your dog.

Thankfully pet stores already know that the human/pet costume combo is a winning one. These dynamic duos are guaranteed to make you and your pup the best dressed at any Halloween party.

Yoda and Luke

Strap your best friend on your back like Luke did with Yoda in the swamps of Dagobah. You can get a Luke Skywalker costume with the classic tunic, but if you really want to be authentic just wear cargo pants and tear the sleeves off a khaki sweater.

Chewbacca and Han

If the bond between you and your doggo is more like the playfully bantering Han and Chewy (or if he's way too big to fit in a backpack) this is another fun Star Wars pair.

Minions

You and your partner in crime can dress up as the adorable yellow guys from Despicable Me. Bonus points if you teach her commands in minionese. If you have a yellow shirt, some goggles, and overalls you're all set, but you can also find a full minion costume on Amazon.

Batman and Robin

Be honest — you're the sidekick in this relationship. Dress up as Robin and let your pup shine as the Dark Knight himself. Make him a Batmobile out of cardboard and a wagon if you've got a lot of trick or treating to do.

Thor and Loki

Then again, if you're a Marvel household, you can dress up as the bickering Norse brothers. People might think you hate your dog, though, which is definitely sending the wrong message.

Pikachu and Ash/Misty

Your dog may not have electrical powers but he is as loyal a friend as Pikachu. Dress up as Ash or Misty and you can have your significant other dress up as the other trainer if they want to be included.

Scooby Doo and any member of the Mystery Gang

Yeah, Shaggy is the obvious choice here, but any member of the Mystery Gang will do. If you go around the party ripping masks off of people, you may find your soulmate. It'll be the person who yells, "I would've gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids."

Lilo and Stitch

The best girl-and-her-pet relationship in cinema history is also a super easy, fun, and recognizable costume. The dog Stitch costume is adorable and you can just grab a grass skirt and red crop top or pick up this dress that looks exactly like Lilo's.
