What's better than Robert De Niro (Killers of the Flower Moon) playing a gangster? How about Robert De Niro playing two gangsters?

That's the case in The Alto Knights, which reunites De Niro with director Barry Levinson. The pair had previously collaborated on films like political satire Wag the Dog and Bernie Madoff biopic The Wizard of Lies.

Written by Goodfellas screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi, The Alto Knights sees De Niro take on the dual roles of real-life crime bosses Frank Costello and Vito Genovese. Once the closest of friends, a series of betrayals has torn the two apart. Genovese even attempts to assassinate Costello! Now, their battle for control of New York promises to reshape the Mafia forever. Watch the full trailer above to see more hints of gangster action, and to see De Niro square off with himself.

The Alto Knights hits theaters March 21.
