Smooth Bernie Sanders slow-jams the news, quotes Lizzo on Jimmy Fallon

On Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Senator Bernie Sanders got behind the mic to take his turn at slow-jamming the news. Though it's likely no political slow-jammer will ever top President Barack Obama, Senator Sanders demonstrated just how smooth he can be.

"We can no longer tolerate three people owning more wealth than the bottom half of America," says Sanders over a gentle downtempo beat. "I have the experience to fight for that bottom half and to create an economy that works for all of us, not just those on top."

"Aww yeah," interjects Fallon, staring intensely at the camera. "Bernie Sanders is looking out for your bottom half. He knows it's been neglected for too long. Now he wants to pay it some extra special attention."

Sanders uses his indoor voice to jam about a range of topics, including wealth distribution, Medicare, climate change, big money in politics, and his "completely normal, completely fine heart." The senator even tosses in a Lizzo reference.

"Hair toss, check my nails," croons The Roots' Black Thought. "Bernie, how you feelin'?"

"Feeling good as hell!"
