The St. Louis Cardinals gained a new player Wednesday when an unexpected little critter hopped on the field and became the team's newest outfielder.

During the sixth inning of the Royals-Cardinals game, the cutest, tiniest kitten interrupted the game and quickly became the star of the show. The little one ran all around the field, said hello to players, and enjoyed his new-found attention. But that all quickly came to an end by a party-pooping member of the grounds' crew.

But the kitten got his revenge! While the crew member was running the feisty feline off the field in his arms, the kitty bit him square on the finger in an act of true defiance, quickly becoming our new hero.

Turns out the kitten was less of an interruption and more of a good luck charm because the Cardinals came back to win 8-5.

Did someone call for a rally cat?
