Apple TV is bringing the illustrious and seemingly augmented world of Emily Dickinson's life to the small screen.

With Hailee Steinfeld at its helm starring as Dickinson in a series that follows the poet as a young woman, the show boasts a supporting cast of relative newcomers: Anna Baryshnikov (Manchester by the Sea) as Dickinson's sister, Adiran Enscoe (Seeds), and Ella Hunt (Anna and the Apolocalypse) as Dickinson's love interest. Most notably, comedy vet Jane Krakowski (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) plays Dickinson's mother.

Apply TV's take on the illustrious poet is markedly different than how Emily Dickinson's legacy has lived on throughout history. She was known to live a solitary life during which she was surrounded by her siblings and Sue Gilbert, who have been called her "intellectual companions."

In the series, premiering on Apple TV+ this fall, audiences see Dickinson as rebellious, flirtatious, and very much in contact with the outside world.

So...maybe not totally historically accurate. But possibly fun!
