Valedictorian gets second chance to finish speech on 'Jimmy Kimmel'

High school valedictorian and class president Peter Butera was cut off mid-speech during his graduation over the weekend, and Jimmy Kimmel was one of the many people who didn't like that.

After Butera went off-script and criticized what he considers to be an overly authoritative administration at Wyoming Area High School, his mic was cut off and he was approached by the school principal to leave the stage. After he was given the boot, his classmates cheered and gave Butera a standing ovation. Although he told The Times-Tribune that he got his point across, he was never able to finish his full speech.

Well, Kimmel did not like the Kanye-esque move the school pulled on Butera, and stated, "Whoever cut that mic off should not be in charge of education of any kind." To make things right, Kimmel had Butera come on Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live! via video chat and finish the speech he was meant to give. He also encouraged the Villanova University-bound grad to "keep being a pain in the ass."

Watch Butera make his point clear during the opening monologue of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
