Last night Jimmy Fallon opened his show in the wake of the shooting at Las Vegas. This is not an easy job for an entertainer, who must do his or her job in the wake of a national tragedy.

"In the face of tragedies and acts of terror we need to remember that good still exists in this world," said Fallon. "We're here to entertain you tonight and that's what we're gonna do."

Then came his guests for the night, Miley Cyrus and Adam Sandler with a performance of Dido's "No Freedom," with Cyrus on vocals and Sandler on guitar.

Miley is as good as ever, and her voice is perfectly suited to the Dido song. Sandler makes a great addition to the country music vibe, occasionally harmonising nicely with Cyrus' voice. A perfectly pitched performance -- in every respect.
