Five-year-old Lizzy Myers is on a trip around the world to complete her "visual bucket list" before she loses her vision. Her most recent stop was Rome, where she got to see Pope Francis in person.

The meeting was brief but emotional. Myers teared up and gave the Pope a small meteorite as a gift, which she got from a previous stop at an observatory to see the stars.

Myers has been diagnosed with a condition called Usher's Syndrome, which will eventually lead to deafness and blindness. Her parents told Reuters that they haven't yet explained the disease to her, preferring to do it gradually. She currently wears a hearing aid.
