Richard Hammond apologizes after narrowly escaping a burning car

Richard Hammond was very, very lucky.

While filming his Amazon series The Grand Tour in Switzerland, the Top Gear presenter lost control of his vehicle. It went down a hill and flipped before bursting into flames.

Thankfully, Hammond climbed out of the car seconds before it was incinerated. He managed to come away from the accident with just a broken leg.

In the video above, Richard thanks the people who got him to safety and apologizes to his wife and daughters for being "a colossal idiot."

It's a huge relief to see he's safe and in good spirits. We hope he heals quickly.
