'Stranger Things' meets 'Round The Twist' in Netflix's gift to the internet

If your weren't raised in Australia from the late '80s to early '90s, you might be blissfully unaware of the nostalgic joy that is Round The Twist. If Stranger Things were based in Sydney rather than Indiana, you just know the series would be full of references to the supernatural Aussie classic.

Netflix Australia knows this too. Recently, the internet pooped its pants upon realising the kid's show --starring a family that lives in a lighthouse and witnesses all manner of spooky and hilarious things on the regular -- has been available to stream on the service since at least early 2015.

Now Netflix has delivered the ultimate homage -- a Stranger Things opening credits redux, in which the show becomes a frame-by-frame Round The Twist do-over.

And it works. It works so good.
