'Pick up an acoustic guitar': Seth Meyers scathingly calls out Trump aides' book deals

The Trump-aide-to-book-deal pipeline is still going strong, most recently defecating memoirs from former House Speaker John Boehner and Trump's Attorney General Bill Barr. However, as Late Night host Seth Meyers pointed out on Tuesday, it's all way too little, way, way too late.

"All these books should have the same title: 'How I Blew It,'" quipped Meyers. "If you want me to listen to all your regrets, pick up an acoustic guitar."

Speaking during his "Hey!" segment, Meyers considered that Republicans bemoaning their past behaviour and attempting to drum up sympathy for their devilry isn't useful to anyone. In fact it's actively aggravating, since they actually had the power to do something for ages but simply refused.

"This is like hitting somebody's car and leaving a note that says, 'Upon reflection, I should have driven more carefully,' and then charging us $29.95 for the note," Meyers continued.

"I'm glad you're interested in publishing all of a sudden. You know what you could have published that might have been helpful? The Mueller report."
