As many predicted, Senate Republicans voted to acquit Donald Trump of both charges brought against him in the impeachment trial, ensuring he will remain in office. Not only that, but if the chants of "four more years" at the State of the Union are any indication, they're eager to see him get a second term.

"Cool, the State of the Union just turned into a Trump rally," Late Night host Seth Meyers said during Wednesday's episode. His tone and facial expression, however, suggested it was anything but cool.

Meyers did acknowledge one notable exception to the wave of Republicans who voted to acquit. Senator Mitt Romney announced he would vote to convict Trump both in a floor speech and on Fox News, citing his apparent conscience.

"I love he did it on Fox News just to enrage Trump even more," said Meyers. "Trump's aides probably had to put duct tape over the TV to make the headline say 'Trump is a good boy and I love him!'"
