Seth Meyers rips into the Republicans dodging questions about Trump's racist tweets
Watch Next

If you're a Republican being asked about Trump's most recent racist tweets, you have to develop a very unique skill set. Swiftly ducking into elevators and temporarily forgetting how Twitter works is a good start.

In the video above, Seth Meyers takes "A Closer Look" at the recent Republican trend of doing everything possible to avoid answering Trump-themed questions.

"So Trump mounted a racist attack on four Democratic Congresswomen of colour, and then defended that attack with lies about the Congresswomen he was attacking," says Meyers, "which of course gave Republicans a chance to courageously stand up to the president by pulling their favourite move: pretending they haven't heard about it and desperately waiting for the elevator doors to close."

What follows is an amusingly brutal takedown featuring some very impressive use of a pot plant.
