I'm not sure what, exactly, inspired YouTuber ontyj aka Jonty Pressinger to create a deepfake mashup of movie characters singing the Smash Mouth earworm "All Star." It's a pretty random idea.

Ontyj wrote in the video description that they "got carried away" using the neural network Wav2Lip and "now this exists." Indeed it does. And it's not bad!

Did I know that I wanted to see Regina George sing Smash Mouth? Absolutely not. But you know what? It was kind of cool. And half soothing? I can't explain it.

Anyway, it's a decent way to spend a minute, so just go ahead and watch.

Pressinger previous "fixed" the animation for The Lion King, which went crazy viral and racked up 10 million views.
