Saturday Night Live relied on wacky throwback accents and a dash of the macabre in "The Corporal" sketch, starring Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and host Jennifer Lopez.

In it, McKinnon and Bryant play sisters vying to marry the titular Corporal, but the presence of their third, objectively gorgeous sister throws a wrench in their plans. The ensuing sketch is one part Twilight Zone, one part Cinderella, and one part an excuse for JLo to pose attractively while channeling a chronically insecure Marilyn Monroe.
