Imagine if Star Fox met classic action cartoons like G-Force and hand-drawn greatness from animators like Don Bluth.
That's the premise of A Fox in Space, a YouTube project that was written, animated, edited and almost entirely voiced by one man: Matthew Gafford. Gafford's project, which is apparently one of his first solo forays, takes a darker, more emotional look at Fox McCloud and his friends. Beyond the hand-drawn animation, the voice acting and story are all top-notch.
Gafford's video warns that it's not endorsed by Nintendo at all. But with Star Fox Zero's release last Friday, it could be the perfect opportunity for the game-maker to embrace a fan project. (Then again, the Big N released its own one-off Star Fox cartoon last week to promote the game's launch.)
Gafford said on Reddit last year that there would be six episodes in this season, so let's hope he can continue publishing. Either way, watch the first episode now in case it gets taken down.
