If we're going to make America great again, let's bring back The Colbert Report. Or at least a part of it.
The Late Show host Stephen Colbert returned to his comedy news roots on Monday by bringing back his regular Report segment "The Word." Now rebranded as "The Werd," the segment focuses on a singular news topic in Colbert's explanation while snarky comments appear in the sidebar.
Colbert homed in on Trump's "repeal and replace" plan for the Affordable Care Act, pointing out that the "replace" part is somewhat lacking: Of the 20 million people under Obamacare, 6 million are working class Trump supporters who would lose health insurance. The repeal would cost $1.5 trillion in estimation and happens to be exempt from a report from the Congressional Budget Office.
"Republicans are right to keep us in the dark," Colbert said with mock seriousness after The Werd created the term "Avoidable Care Act." "I know when someone is screwing me, I like to keep the lights off."
