Monday's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert again covered the ongoing impeachment inquiry into Trump, because like a oil fire or genital warts, ignoring it will only let it get worse.

The latest symptom appeared on Friday, when Rudy Giuliani's associate Lev Parnas revealed he was willing to testify that House Intelligence Committee member Devin Nunes flew to Vienna, Austria late last year to get compromising material on Biden.

"So, according to Parnas, the top Republican investigating whether Trump tried to get dirt on Biden... tried to get dirt on Biden," said Colbert. "It reminds me of the children's classic, Nancy Drew and the Case of the Man Murdered by Nancy Drew."

Nunes — who, as Colbert notes, claimed expenses for a trip to Europe right around then — responded by at first refusing to comment. Then he threatened to sue the Daily Beast and CNN for reporting the story. Finally, Nunes went on Fox News and said that while he won't answer yet whether he went to Vienna to meet former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, he will absolutely talk about it at some point.

"Me thinks he doth not protesteth enough," said Colbert.
