Stephen Colbert has mocked Donald Trump's "glistening" appearance at a rally in Ohio, saying the president looked like "C-3PO crossed with a glazed ham."
In his opening monologue on Monday night, The Late Show host said Trump, "always known for his deep bronzer," had debuted a "new shinier look," over the weekend.
"Even Trump knew it was kind of weird, because he tried to explain it away," said Colbert, showing a moment from the rally in which Trump remarks on the 110-degree Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celsius) temperature inside Olentangy Orange High School, where the rally was held.
So, Colbert attempted to recreate what he dubbed Trump's new "glimmery" aesthetic with a comedic makeup tutorial during his segment, Stephen on the Floor. Think an "impenetrable layer of bronzer," and a lot of gold glitter. Blend with baloney.
"I'm going to show you how to get the hottest, most presidential highlights. It's glimmery, it's shimmery, and it's a fun and easy look you can take from golf to rally."
