Stephen Colbert is having so much fun with the 🍑 puns — which is nice, because in between his vocal cord-shredding Trump impression, the 1800-QUID-PRO-QUICKIE party line, and a James Bond parody that sees the return of the Colbert Eyebrow, there's a lot of fairly appalling news he has to get through. For example, an entire weekend's worth of presidential tweets accusing congressmen and legally protected whistleblowers of treason, and accidentally retweeting shark-based parody accounts of himself.

"The President of the United States just tweeted the phrase 'pro-shark media', which means we've officially entered the dumbest time in human history," proclaims Colbert. "Beating the previous dumbest time, when we thought a spooky bird mask could protect you from the Black Plague."

Yes, this is also a segment with a guy in a Plague Doctor mask dancing to 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready For This." It's not all wholesome fruit puns.
