Steve Carell had a wonderfully festive trick when he used to work as a mailman

Steve Carell always puts 100% into his roles -- whether the role in question is comedy, drama, or being a mailman.

Yep: back in his pre-showbiz days, Carell delivered the mail for a spell in Littleton, Massachusetts. And he had a special trick that he used to play during the festive season.

"I would write a little handwritten note and say, 'Your letter to Santa Claus has been picked up by special reindeer courier'," explains Carell. "And I'd leave it in the mailbox."

It may have meant he took a whole lot longer to deliver all the mail, but that is pretty adorable.
