Trevor Noah mocks Trump's failed attempts to intervene in the A$AP Rocky situation

There are some stories that seem almost too bizarre to be true. Donald Trump's attempt to intervene in rapper A$AP Rocky's incarceration in a Swedish prison is one clear example of this.

"This is one of those moments where I genuinely cannot believe that we're living in real life," says Trevor Noah in the Daily Show clip above. "Listen to the story: Donald Trump, who is the president of the United States, got a call from his friend Kanye West to save a rapper from a Swedish prison.

"This sounds like a headline written by a newspaper on LSD."

After breaking down the specifics, Noah wastes no time in mocking Trump's attempts to get involved -- which, judging by a tweet from former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt, might not amount to much.

"So Sweden is saying that in their country, a president cannot interfere with an ongoing investigation," says Noah. "Imagine how hard it must have been to try and explain that to Donald Trump."

Ouch.
