Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh has a message for all the fools jumping out of windows into snow piles: Stop it.

"I’m asking people to stop their nonsense right now," Walsh said at a press conference Tuesday, addressing the legions of people who have jumped out of windows -- often dressed only in their underwear -- and posted their conquests on social media using the hashtag #BostonBlizzardChallenge over the past three weeks.

This type of thing, the mayor says, is “a foolish thing to do."

“We’re asking people to act responsibly in the city of Boston,” Walsh said. “This isn’t Loon Mountain, this is the city of Boston, where we’re trying to remove snow off of the street and it becomes very dangerous."

"The last thing we want to do is respond to an emergency call where somebody jumped out of the window because they thought it was a funny thing to do," he added.

The latest blizzard that ripped through Boston on Sunday officially made February the city's snowiest month of all-time.

Boston has been blitzed by around six feet of snow over the past three weeks due to a stunning succession of storms even for a city that is no stranger to blizzards.

This winter is already at number three on the list of Boston's all-time snowiest seasons, with around 90 inches so far. The number to beat comes from the Winter of 1995-96, which topped out at 107.6 inches.

Passing that all-time snow total is a definite possibility this year, with half of February still to come.
