Yet another snowstorm swept across the Eastern Seaboard Tuesday, causing headaches for commuters and travelers alike.

Both New York and New Jersey are in emergency mode due to the storm, and Massachusetts sent its public workers home early to try to abate weather-related danger during the evening commute.

"This winter storm will bring a one-two punch of snow and extreme cold," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. "I urge all those in the affected regions to exercise caution, and avoid travel if possible."

Forecasters expect accumulation of more than a foot in some areas. The NWS predicts regions in and around southern New England will feel the brunt of the storm, experiencing gusty winds in addition to the snow.

"It will be a winter wonderland for these areas," the NWS Tuesday evening forecast reads.

The storm has already caused thousands of flight cancelations and delays, and more than 1,000 flights scheduled for tomorrow have already been canceled, according to FlightAware.com. The airports facing the worst delays are in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

This latest storm comes just two weeks after a snowstorm and subsequent "polar vortex" caused problems across the U.S., including some of the coldest temperatures in the past 20 years.
