Senator Harry Reid's 2015 is off to a rough start.

The Senate's democratic leader was hospitalized in Nevada after he suffered an accident while exercising at home. Reid, 75, broke a number of ribs and bones in his face when a piece of equipment broke while he was using it, according to a statement from his office.

Doctors expect Reid to make a "full recovery," according to the statement. He will return to Washington this weekend as the Senate reconvenes for the new year.

Reid was treated at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada before being transferred to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he remained overnight as a precaution.
