The death of British model and television personality Peaches Geldof was likely linked to heroin, authorities said Thursday, citing the toxicology report.
Geldof's husband, Thomas Cohen, found the 25-year-old slumped across the bed in their home in Wrotham, Kent on April 7. Her 11-month-old son was by her side.
Speaking in Kent, England on Thursday, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said Geldof's toxicology report revealed "recent use of heroin at levels which identified it was likely to have played a role in her death," the Guardian reports. Fotheringham said the post-mortem examination was inconclusive, and so he would conduct further tests, the Associated Press reports.

In 2000, Geldof's mother, Paula Yates, died from a heroin overdose, an event that "haunted" the young model, the New York Daily News claims.
Peaches posted a photo of her and her mother to Instagram just days before her tragic death. The photo has since been deleted.

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain," Geldof's father, the British musician Bob Geldof said of his daughter's death in April. "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us."
