The chaotic aftermath of the deadly explosion that rocked Tianjin, a city in northern China late Wednesday night, was captured by users of Sina Weibo, the Chinese microblogging service.

The state-run newspaper People's Daily reported that 17 were killed in the blast, which occurred just before midnight local time. The explosion critically injured 32 and left nearly 250 people hospitalized. While the official cause is still unknown, local media pinpointed to a warehouse that stores “dangerous goods" as the source of the explosion.

The following photos, some of which are graphic, were gathered from Weibo users geographically located in Tianjin using Geofeedia. They reveal damaged apartments -- many had their windows blown out -- and bloodied victims making their way to area hospitals.
