Person found dead in conference room on Apple's Cupertino campus

Reuters is reporting that the Santa Clara Coroner's office has identified the man as 25-year-old Edward Mackowiak, but a cause of death was not announced.

According to TMZ, which cites a sheriff's dispatch call from 8:38 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, the person found dead was a Hispanic male.

The employee was reportedly found with a gun nearby.
TMZ also reported that Apple security escorted a female employee off campus after she got into an argument with another person and sustained a head injury, though it's unclear if the two incidents are related.
Mashable reached out to Apple and multiple times to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office for comment. An officer who answered the phone there referred us to a spokesperson, who hasn't returned our call.
On Thursday, Apple released the following statement:
We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple. We are working to support them however we can in this difficult time.
