Madame Tussauds reinstates Beyoncé wax figure after lighting adjustments

It's a start.

You know you've done Beyoncé wrong when her whole Beyhive gets involved.

A week after Madame Tussauds New York unveiled a horrible wax figure of Beyoncé on their museum floor, the sculpture has been removed due to backlash from fans.

Fans criticized the wax figure for looking absolutely nothing like the singer. Everything including her hair, face, and especially her skin tone was off, and no one was going to let the museum get away with insulting the queen.

At first, people who saw photos of the figure compared it to the likeness of Lindsay Lohan, Shakira, and even Britney Spears. When asked about the reaction to the figure, Madame Tussauds originally commented,

At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.  Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.

Since the statue has been removed, The New York Times reports that staff members are keeping quiet about the reason for the removal. A museum representative declined to answer questions about why the figure was no longer displayed, but one staffer say the statue is “off the floor until further notice."

We're just happy that thing is now out of sight. It was making us upset. Beyoncé deserves to look better in wax.

UPDATE: July 21, 2017, 5:09 p.m. EDT Madame Tussauds has reinstated the wax figure after slight adjustments to lighting and the figure's styling. In a statement to Spin, the museum wrote, “We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé. We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure and she is on display at Madame Tussauds New York."
