Cam Newton made a surprise appearance at a middle school playground football game
Cam Newton has a new group of teammates.
The Panthers quarterback was driving through Davidson, North Carolina when he passed a group of seventh-graders playing football on the Community School of Davidson playground.
And when Newton noticed one of the kids was wearing a Cam Newton jersey, he did what any renowned NFL star would do — he hopped the fence and joined in the game.

“The students just herded all around him. I still can’t believe he did that,” teacher Mimi Siadak told WSOC-TV. (Don't worry; Newton asked the teachers for permission first.)
By all accounts, it was a very fun game.

When the awestruck group of students finally headed back inside for class, Siadak noticed one little girl was crying — but they were happy tears.
"This was just the best moment of my life," the girl said.

And for Newton, it was probably way more fun than the Super Bowl.
