Whether you’re a football fan or not, the name “Cam (dab on 'em) Newton” has been lighting up social media and stuck on everyone’s minds for the past several weeks.

[seealso slug="cam-newton-dancing"]

This 6’5”, 245 lbs bawse is killing the social media game right now, and his haters (ie; the insecure, jealous, cryptic trolls of the Internet) don’t know what to make of it.

On top of that, this young pro-athlete is projected to sweep up his first MVP title at the NFL Honors Awards Show airing Saturday, February 6th at 9:00 pm on CBS.

Before you start channeling your anger at me and start giving me lip service of how arrogant, closed-minded, showboat-y and selfish Cam is to you, allow me to share some reasoning behind why Newton is overtaking your Twitter timelines and Facebook News Feeds.

Win or lose, Cam Newton has already won the social media game

Cam is charismatic, great with kids, doesn’t have two left feet, has a Colgate smile, and has a southern charm that is undeniable. What I believe is grinding people’s gears so much is that we’re witnessing on a first hand account a young, talented African-American quarterback who is in the process of paving his own lane. Newton’s ‘Cam-isms’ are just so catchy, so inviting, so authentically him, people just want to take part in it. Don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself:

Here's Cam just enjoying courtside seats at a Hornets game:

Cam's got fans of all shapes, sizes, & status (and creatures) doing the dab:

//

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Cam's reassures you that Beats By Dre helps him block the haters:

Too bad they don’t make band aids for feelings. @CameronNewtonhttps://t.co/hm5N2JSjjG

Cam's made it clear that his haters don't phase him, so with that being said, and with Butter Finger promising to pay up to $50,000 in NFL fines for end zone celebrations, let’s take a sneak peak at what we may be in for on Super Bowl Sunday.

What to watch:

Reactions from his haters

Some people aren't drinking the Cam Newton Koolaid.

I hope Cam Newton gets his head taken off by Bobby Wagner while he's doing some stupid little dance

I love how unapologetically black Cam Newton is. It's refreshing.

If this is just a taste of what’s to come on Sunday, sign me up. If you’ve made it this far, you’re either starting to view Cam in an entirely different light, or you may still be stuck in your old, tired thought patterns.

All I can say is, I recognize greatness when I see it, and Cam Newton is IT. For the haters who still chose to oppose him at the end of this article, a word of advice -- stop losing your marbles. Just let Cam be great.
