Gigi Hadid opens up about health condition after getting body shamed
Gigi Hadid has posted a response to people claiming the model is "too skinny," stating she would no longer explain the way her body looks.
Hadid posted a series of tweets explaining that changes to her body are a result of treatment for Hashimoto's disease.
According to the NHS, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a condition "caused by the immune system attacking the thyroid gland," which can lead to "tiredness, weight gain and dry skin."
"You may not know that when I started @ 17 I was not yet diagnosed w/Hashimoto's disease; those of u who called me "too big for the industry" were seeing inflammation & water retention due to that," wrote Hadid on Twitter.

"I may be "too skinny" for u, honestly this isn't what I want to be, but I feel healthier internally and [...] am still learning and growing with my body everyday, as everyone is," she continued.
