Gigi Hadid on Milan grab: 'I felt I was in danger, and I had every right to react the way I did'
Gigi Hadid had to defend herself twice when a strange man physically attacked her on the street.
First, she had to fight him off for her own personal safety, and then she had to correct headlines that implied that her behavior was bratty, ungrateful and unladylike.
The night of the incident, Hadid chatted with Lena Dunham for Lenny Letter about why sticking up for yourself is a no-brainer.

"Honestly, I felt I was in danger, and I had every right to react the way I did," said Hadid. "If anything, I want girls to see the video and know that they have the right to fight back, too, if put in a similar situation."
Hadid was pissed when people said otherwise, but she had the support of her mom and other strong women in her life.
Hadid, a life-long athlete, has been taking boxing lessons for the past couple of years and credits her muscle memory for helping her swiftly fight off her attacker, "It just came out when he grabbed me — it wasn't a choice. I do have that fighter in me."
Hadid encourages all girls to practice self defense so they're prepared to kick ass when the need arises.
