People still love Harry like J.K. Rowling loves owning people on Twitter.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two, the eighth Harry Potter story by Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, has sold more than 3.3 million copies in North America since its July 31 release, Scholastic announced Wednesday.

The script book remains at No. 1 on USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists, among others, and will likely be the top-selling book of the year.

“We are delighted to see the sustained enthusiasm for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two, which has also sparked more interest in the seven previously published Harry Potter books,” said Ellie Berger, president of trade books for Scholastic, in a statement.

The Wall Street Journal notes that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone sold 35,000 copies this week, good enough for No. 8 on WSJ's bestseller list.

Clearly fans heading to bookstores to buy Cursed Child are hitting a nostalgia wave and picking up some of the original books as well (which, of course, many bookstores had conveniently set up all in one prime section).

It's too bad that now Harry Potter is officially over.

JK: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them drops Nov. 18, and pre-sale tickets went on sale today in the UK.
