How Hermine could affect your Labor Day weekend travel plans

There is a lot of Labor Day weekend traveling to be done, which is why plenty of people are worried about Hermine.

The post-tropical cyclone threatens hit several Mid-Atlantic states with high winds, rain and flooding. That's bad news for travelers. The good news? Some airlines are letting you rebook your flights with no charge.

American Airlines

If you purchased your ticket by Sept. 2 and were planning to fly between Sept. 4 - 5, you might be able to rebook for free if you're traveling to, from, or through these airports:

  • New Bern, North Carolina (EWN)

  • Newport News, Virginia (PHF)

Delta Air Lines

If you purchased a ticket and were planning to fly between Sept. 4 - 6, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without a fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from or through these airports:

  • Newark, New Jersey (EWR)

  • New York Kennedy, New York (JFK)

  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)

  • Newburgh, New York (SWF)

  • White Plains, New York (HPN)

Your new travel arrangements must take place on or before Sept. 9. Check out more information here.

JetBlue

If you booked a flight on or before Sept. 3, change/cancel fees and fare differences will be waived for customers traveling Sept. 4 - 5 to or from the following airports:

  • Baltimore, Maryland (BWI)

  • Boston, Massachussets (BOS)

  • Martha's Vineyard, Maryland (MVY)

  • Nantucket, Maryland (ACK)

  • New York Kennedy, New York (JFK)

  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)

  • Newark, New Jersey (EWR)

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHL)

  • Raleigh, North Carolina (RDU)

  • Richmond, Virginia (RIC)

  • Washington, DC (DCA)

  • Washington, DC (IAD)

  • White Plains, New York (HPN)

Flights can be rebooked through Sept. 10, 2016, and customers with cancelled flights may opt for refunds. Check out more information here.

Southwest Airlines

Customers with travel reservations on Sept. 4 - 5 are eligible to reschedule their flights in accordance with the airline's accommodation procedures if they are traveling to, from or through the following airports:

  • Baltimore/Washington (BWI)

  • Boston, Massachussets (BOS)

  • Newark, New Jersey (EWR)

  • Long Island MacArthur, New York (ISP)

  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)

  • Norfolk, Virginia (ORF)

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHL)

  • Providence, Rhode Island (PVD)

  • Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (RDU)

  • Reagan National, Virginia (DCA)

  • Richmond, Virginia (RIC)

  • Washington Dulles, Virginia (IAD)

Spirit Airlines

Modification charge/fare differences are waived through Sept. 8 if you booked a flight for Sept. 4 - 5, to, from or through the following airports:

  • Atlantic City, New Jersey (ACY)

  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)

United Airlines

For those with original travel dates on Sept. 4 - 5, change fee and any difference in fare will be waived for new flights departing on or before Sept. 8 to, from or through the following airports:

  • New York Kennedy, New York (JFK)

  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)

  • Newark, New Jersey (EWR)

  • White Plains, New York (HPN)
