Iman mourns death of her mother months after David Bowie's passing
Supermodel Iman announced Friday that her mother, Marian Abdulmajid, has passed away.
The news comes only a few months after the death of Iman's husband, rock star David Bowie, who died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Iman shared the news about her mother on Instagram and Twitter, posting a photo from her wedding that shows the model smiling alongside her father, late mother and husband.

Her full caption for the photo reads: "Saddened by death of my mom Maryan Baadi. May Allah grant her the highest jennah. I beg that you respect my family's privacy during our time of grief #ripmaryanbaadi."
Iman has spoken admirably of her mother in past interviews, saying she instilled confidence in her from a young age. She taught her that "nobody can take your self-worth unless you give your consent."
"She always said to me that there is nothing that the boys can do -- because I had two brothers -- that you can't do, if not better," she said in a 2014 interview with the Guardian.
