The Dodgers' champagne celebration on Thursday night was understandably epic.

Los Angeles has reached the playoffs in each of the past four seasons, but hasn't survived the first round since 2013.

That changed on Thursday, when the Dodgers — facing elimination once again — pulled out a 4-3 victory over Washington to earn a spot in the National League Championship Series.

What came next was a lot of champagne, smiles and — wait for it — a speedo.

That's right, Dodgers outfielder Josh Reddick dressed the part, starting the raucous celebration in a referee shirt and an American flag speedo.

Reddick hasn't put up great numbers this postseason, but the veteran outfielder has to feel good about being in this spot at all. In July, the Dodgers acquired him from Oakland, a team which finished dead last in the American League West.

Dodgers' ace Clayton Kershaw, on the other hand, has been at the core of these past four playoff teams. After Kershaw salvaged the Dodgers season with a remarkable two-out save on Thursday, he spent time on the field doing interviews with closer Kenley Jansen.

But Kershaw had somewhere to be.

Visibly antsy, he abruptly ended the interview, grabbed the microphone and delivered a quote as epic as his performance.

"All right, Kenley’s the best closer in the game," Kershaw said, "but we got some champagne to pop, so we’re out of here.”

On to Chicago, where the Dodgers will look to win their first National League Championship Series since 1988 and — if all goes well — pop some more champagne.
