Even the most motivated Pokémon master wants to sit on the couch and chill sometimes.

Don't worry, lazy gamers, there is a way to make the Pokémon come to you: lures and incense.

You sometimes get them when you level up, but you can also buy them in the app's store with Pokécoins -- which, sadly, cost real money.

Both lures and incense perform similar functions, but are different in some key ways.

Catching Pokémon with incense

In college, incense attracted guys with dreadlocks to your dorm room to talk about The Wall. The principle in Pokémon Go is basically the same.

The incense will release a "mysterious fragrance" that will attract "wild Pokémon" to your location for 30 minutes.

All you need to do is catch them when they show up. It's pretty much the best tool for Pokémon hunters who can't be bothered to leave their homes. Everyone gets two of them to start the game, so have fun.

How to use lures

Like incense, lure modules attract Pokémon for 30 minutes. One big difference: they can only be used at Pokéstops, so you'll actually have to do some walking or driving.

Also, unlike incense, multiple players can take advantage of a lure at the same time, not just the person who set it off. That means they attract other human beings along with Pokémon.

That's perfect for lonely Pokémon masters who want to engage in awkward conversation with people staring down at their phones. It's also great for businesses and political candidates who want attention from millennials.

If you see a Pokéstop with pink flowers around it, that means someone has activated a lure, so you better get over there fast. Just beware of waiting criminals when you arrive.
