Has anyone checked in on Nate Silver lately? Is he doing OK?

The FiveThirtyEight editor and statistician tweeted out a fairly apocalyptic (though probably not inaccurate) tweet Friday morning, analyzing who would win if only states that weren't burned in a nuclear holocaust could vote.

Silver's tweet appears to be in response to Trump's announcement on Twitter yesterday that he wanted to expand the United States' arsenal of nuclear weapons. Trump's policy would reverse decades of American nuclear nonproliferation policy, potentially putting the country at risk of nuclear war.

Silver composed his tweet shortly after retweeting quotes from a Trump interview in 1987, where he said he wanted to apply as "much pressure necessary" to force other countries to get rid of their nuclear weapons, including inciting "riots in the street."

Happy holidays everyone!
