If you're just getting back into the swing of things in 2026 and need a news recap, Jimmy Kimmel has got you covered.

In the 13-minute monologue above the host recaps everything Donald Trump has done over the holiday period, from the U.S. president's hundreds of posts on Truth Social and awkward phone calls with children about Santa to the U.S.' surprise attack on Venezuela.

"If you were wondering how bad these Epstein files are for Trump, turns out they're invade Venezuela bad," says Kimmel, talking about the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro. "Yes, he's a criminal and a dictator who's driven his country into financial ruin while he and his family have lined their own pockets, but Maduro is no saint either."

Elsewhere, Seth Meyers and Jon Stewart also had a lot to say about the news.
