This takes the meaning of the world "awkward" to whole new, dizzying heights.

On Monday, the CEO of British supermarket chain Sainsbury's, Mike Coupe, appeared on ITV News to talk about the store's merger with rival chain Asda.

While waiting for the interview to start, he decided to have a little sing-song:

Oh dear.

"This was an unguarded moment trying to compose myself before a TV interview," Coupe told ITV in a statement.

"It was an unfortunate choice of song, from the musical 42nd Street which I saw last year and I apologise if I have offended anyone."
