Hate having packages left on your doorstep? Well, now some Volvo owners can have deliveries made right to their cars.

Volvo announced Tuesday morning that it has begun in-car deliveries to its customers in Sweden. Rather than utilize a big delivery firm like FedEX, Volvo instead paired with a startup called urb-it.

Here's how the system works. A Volvo owner places an order for an item on an urb-it enabled website. Then, within two hours, one of urb-it's screened and vetted delivery persons goes and picks up the item from the appropriate shop. They then take the item to the Volvo owner's car.

There, they gain access to the vehicle with Volvo's recently unveiled digital key app on their smartphone. Of course, the one-time-use digital key only allows the urber (the term for a urb-it worker) delivery person to unlock the car. They're not given the portion of the digital key that allows them to start the ignition.

When the package is placed in the vehicle, they lock the car and leave.

Currently, this program is only available in Stockholm, Sweden. However, Volvo plans to offer urb-it services to several European cities this year. And, by 2025, it plans to have the program running in more than 200 cities worldwide.
