This Alfa Romeo police car was built to quickly transport organs, blood
Just because a car needs to go fast doesn't mean it can't also travel in style.
Alfa Romeo presented two special editions of its new Giulia Quadrifoglio high-performance sports sedan to the Italian national military police, the Carabinieri, on Monday morning.

Alfa created the cars to serve as special operations vehicles. Specifically, they'll be deployed when the police need to do something fast, like transporting organs and blood.
On the slightly less exciting side, but nonetheless significant, the cars will be employed for escort services at institutional ceremonies.
There's a good reason why Alfa chose these cars for such special duty. Not only are they the latest and greatest creation from the storied Italian automaker, they're also powered by a 510-horsepower 2.9-liter V6 engine.
At full throttle, the Giulia will do 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds — certainly fast enough to get some blood across town. Heck, it might even be enough to curdle it. You might even say, Italians have speed in their blood and their blood in this speedy Alfa.
In stark contrast to American police vehicles, these Giulias haven't been de-contented. Instead, they retain the special leather interior with red accent stitching. Alfa also fitted the cars with a defibrillator, special portable cooling units, radio, Odin system, emergency devices and rechargeable LED flashlights.
What's more, Alfa has bolted up a tablet in front of the passenger. It's not specified why in the announcement.
I'd like to say this is to aid in police duties. Since it's the Italians, though, I have a feeling it's instead for entertainment.
I know these cars were built for the Italians, but I can't help but think the English need a couple of their own. I mean, they could rightfully call them "bloody fast" (sorry not sorry).
