PRE-ORDER NOW: The Apple Watch Series 9 is finally here, and includes some pretty unique features, including "Double Tap" — you can pre-order yours ahead of the official Sept. 22 release right now at the Apple Store, starting at $399.

Apple's latest Keynote just wrapped up, and during the big event, the tech giant announced a bunch of brand-new iPhone and Apple Watch devices that'll be available starting on Sept. 22.

Not the least of which was the Apple Watch Series 9, which brings some fun new features to the table and a brand-new pink color option. You can secure yours starting today via preorder — depending on what configuration you get, the new watches range from $399 to $1,049 if you get all the bells and whistles.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is a pretty decent upgrade from the Series 8. It comes stock with the new S9 chip, which gives a boost to the smoothness of the watch's animations and effects, as well as processing speeds. The Series 9 now boasts an 18-hour battery life, and improves its popular health analytics features by integrating Siri into the mix — ask your AI companion how much you slept last night, what your resting heart rate is, and more. The brightness of the screen has also been improved, and can now be dimmed down to one nit. Fans of NameDrop will be happy to hear that it's now included in the Series 9, too.

That stuff is all great, but two new features of the Series 9 really stole the show: "Double Tap" and the ability to find your iPhone using an ultra wideband chip. The Double Tap gesture seems to be Apple's biggest flex with the new watch. Users can now simply touch their index finger to their thumb twice to take calls, launch widgets, and more. Basically, it's a primary action button that you can use with just one hand. The ultra wideband chip is a nice bonus for those who misplace their phone frequently — you'll get hyper-specific location tracking for your iPhone, which can lead you back to your device via a pseudo-compass and haptic feedback.

The fully carbon-neutral Apple Watch Series 9 is available to pre-order now, and will fully release on Sept. 22.
