Apple’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are here, and they're a lot more Pro than last year’s models:

Apple launched its new iPhones at an event in Apple’s Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino. By far the biggest change on the iPhone 15 is the addition of the Dynamic Island, the pill-shaped area that covers the front camera and sensors on top of the phone’s display.

The display sizes are the same as last year: The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 15 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. If you hoped for an iPhone mini, we have to disappoint you: It's still missing from the lineup.

The new phones have an aluminum enclosure and color-infused glass on the back. It's not as fancy as the titanium case on the iPhone 15 Pro, but it has a new, contoured edge, making it slightly nicer to hold.

The new iPhone 15 also has a new, 48-megapixel main camera, a big improvement from last year's 12-megapixel main camera. This means that the iPhone 15 can now do 2x zoom without having a dedicated telephoto camera.

Another small but important change: The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now come with a USB-C connector, meaning you can charge all of your Apple devices with the same cable and charger. Bye-bye, Lightning port.

The processor that powers the iPhone 15 is last year's A16 Bionic, introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro. One cool new feature that this brings is being able to charge AirPods or Apple Watch directly from the iPhone's USB-C connector.

Apple also pledged not to use leather on new products ever again, so the new accessories, such as cases, will be made of eco-friendly materials. Apple says its new FineWoven material, which is what the new cases and wallets are made of, is created with 68-percent post-consumer recycled content.

The iPhone 15 is available in five new colors: pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. The iPhone 15 starts at $799, and the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899. Both phones start with 128GB of storage. Find the new flagship smartphone lineup here:
