Now there's an unlikely ambassador for Asia's king of fruit. Actress Jessica Chastain was on the Jimmy Kimmel show, where she brought out a durian and proudly declared that she was a fan, before persuading Kimmel to partake in its "onion-custard" glory.

"Oh my god, it attacked me," says Kimmel, reeling back immediately after opening the fruit.

"It kind of smells like a garbage can, huh?" agrees Chastain, cheerfully.

"It's on the line between horrible and delicious," says the bemused talkshow host.

While the fruit is typically abhorred by people outside of Asia -- and some of us here, as well -- Chastain has been on quite the durian bender during her recent tour of Asia promoting The Huntsman: Winter's War.
